SUPPORTING your

birth and journey to

motherhood

Hi! My name is Carol Tuten

CERTIFIED BIRTH DOULA

CD(DONA)

With over 30 years of experience as a maternal nurse, I treasure providing support and guidance to women and their families. This passion led me to pursue additional ways to be even more involved in the birthing process. As your doula, I commit to provide continuous support during your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum period. I consider it to be a true privilege to be a part of the entire birth experience as your advocate. I am working for you...not your care provider or hospital.

Services

Prenatal support

Need help in creating a birthing plan? We can address the desired location for delivery, intentions regarding medications, and any other interventions. Prenatally, I will accompany you for one to two visits and also provide feeding information (including breastfeeding) for mom and baby. I’m here for all of your prenatal questions and those related to the signs of labor.

labor and birth

As your doula, I will provide 15 hours of continous face-to-face labor support. Physical non-medical support is provided in a labor pool (if desired), with back massage, aroma therapy, positional changes, and more. Emotional support is given via words of encouragement and providing a safe space to share any frustration, fear, or anxiety. Additionally, I commit to helping to preserve the memories of your delivery through photography.

postpartum support

Two postpartum visits up to one hour in length in your home are included. Postpartum assistance will include lactation support/infant feeding information. I will remain on call as your doula for up to two weeks postpartum to answer any questions or concerns regarding the postpartum period.

Phone Call

During our first conversation, we will establish exactly where you are in your pregnancy and what support you need.

From that, I will prepare a draft of my services that you will be able to review.

In-Person Meeting

We will schedule an in-person meeting to be sure that I am a good fit for you and your family. You will receive a draft of our contract that will detail the exact services you will receive, payment schedule, etc.

Let's do it!

Now that we have all of the important things in place, we can start working together and get you prepared for your birth and any related guidance you might need.
